Im Rahmen seiner Untersuchung werden die Schüler zweier Parallelklassen mit jeweils 30 Schülern einer Grundschule nach zwei unterschiedlichen Lehrmethoden (neu entwickelte Lehrmethode vs. Standardmethode) unterrichtet. Vor dem Einsetzen der Lehrmethoden misst er mit einem standardisierten Test die Leistungen der Schüler im betreffenden Fach. Am Ende des Schulhalbjahres verwendet er einen vergleichbaren Test, um erneut die Leistungen zu erfassen.
